| Has your child been diagnosed with a learning disability? Has your child been diagnosed with an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder? |
Eton specializes in educating students with attention and learning challenges. At Eton, we regard these types of diagnoses as differences, not disabilities. It is our fundamental belief that every child can learn. |
Do you have nightly battles with your child about doing his/her homework? |
At Eton, lessons are taught specifically in a way to address each child’s individual learning needs. If a child is not learning a lesson, the teacher will adjust and ensure the student is grasping the concept. This leads to a confidence in the student’s own ability. When it comes time to do homework, you’ll find that “I can’t,” turns into, “I can!” |
| Does your child dread going to school? |
Eton is a warm, welcoming place where students feel safe to learn. In the safety of Eton, students experience academic and social progress, and regain self confidence.

| Does he/she struggle socially? Is making friends difficult? |
Eton’s program is as committed to social skills and student development as it is to academics. This is because life demands that we all have good social skills. For some students with learning challenges, social skills don’t come automatically. Eton knows, though, that with specific instruction and support, students can and do learn these skills. This sets them up for success dealing with peers, family members and adults both in school and out. |
| Does your child have difficulty with the daily pace of school? Is it a challenge to simply get through the day for him/her? |
School is demanding and can overwhelm a student. To address this, Eton teaches life skills in conjunction with the curriculum such as: Organization, Goal Setting, Team Work, Positive Behavior, Self Awareness, and Self Advocacy. Reducing anxiety paves the way to learning. |
| Does your child receive Resource Room services? |
At Eton, there’s no LRC. That’s because Eton Academy builds the support right into every classroom. No class is larger than 10 students, and every teacher is specially trained to address the needs of students with learning challenges. |
| Do you feel your child has been mislabeled, or limited in school because of a diagnosis? |
While Eton considers the medical diagnosis of every child when preparing their personalized learning plan, we do not define a student by a label. To determine the educational approach for each student, Eton uses formal and informal assessments by teachers, a student’s academic progress, as well as specific testing. A student’s personalized educational plan remains fluid and flexible. It’s how a student responds to their program and teachers (on a daily basis) that remains the focus of each plan. |
| Does your child have poor grades or other lack of success in school? |
At Eton, we understand that students’ grades or struggling in school is actually an indicator of a learning challenge. Specific learning strategies are taught to address these challenges. Individual student strengths are emphasized within the classroom. In addition, when a student is understood and supported, their self-confidence grows. The combination of these critical ingredients yield improved grades and academic success. |
