Students at Eton learn in a variety of ways and each has come across an educational environment that hasn't worked for their unique learning style.
While outside the walls, labels can be helpful for students to receive school-based services administered through an IEP or 504, within the walls of Eton Academy, we do not place an emphasis on a certain type of learning difference, as our teachers have the training and ability to work with all learners.
Students may have a clinical diagnosis of ADHD, ADD, Attention differences, Auditory processing disorders, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Visual processing or other learning differences.
Eton’s students are just like any other student. Learning differences aren’t visible to the naked eye, so our students look and act like any typical student found in any public or private school setting.
That being said, our students who learn to self-advocate stand a little taller, express themselves with more confidence and with an incredible amount of kindness. They are the dreamers and the doers, and the up-and-coming movers and shakers.
We have robust art, music and sports programs, clubs and service projects. We believe in anchoring our students in their strengths and creating confident and kind leaders. If we don’t offer a certain sport or program, we can help direct you to community-based programs or look at starting up something that interests your student.
Families from as far north as Fenton, to as far east as Harrison Township call Eton their school home. While Eton Academy doesn’t provide transportation, we do work hard to connect families across the Metro Detroit area and form carpools. This also gives our families an opportunity to connect with others and share some of the driving logistics. Birmingham Schools residents are eligible for BPS transportation.
No. Eton Academy is a 100% private and tuition-based independent school. It is fully recognized and accredited by the Independent School Association of the Central States (ISACS). Eton has been serving the Metro Detroit area since 1986.
