Experiential Learning - Home and Away

Upper School Students Learn Near and Far
Last week, Eton Academy's Upper School students had new and exciting experiences. Some students took a trip to Washington, DC, and some stayed home. Both went on adventures, learned the same curriculum and shared their reflections and experiences teaching each other, as some were home and some were away.

These trips and experiences, a part of the Eton Approach, help students work on infusing academic curriculum to real-world challenges and experiences. Students in Washington, DC went to several museums and monuments, the zoo and a performance. Locally, Eton students went to the zoo, took virtual tours of the same museums, and took in a performance at the Michigan Opera Theater down at the Detroit Opera House.

And yes, our students actually do yoga together as a means of centering their brains for learning -- here and on the road!
