Halayah's Big Day

Discovering New Skills and Leadership
Thursday was a big day for Halayah, a Lower School student, as it was her turn to be the Head of School for the Day at Eton.

With a plan to "Hang Ten with Halayah", Pete Pullen, who served as her assistant and leadership advisor for the day, guided Halayah through the day of showing kindness, exploring different areas of the school, and infusing FUN into the day. Halayah wanted a tropical theme and the Lower School enjoyed a water balloon toss that turned into a water balloon fight with Mr. Pullen.

Halayah also found she has a passion for photography. Eton's Director of Public Relations, Betsy Pilon, works with each Head of School for the Day to capture the spirit of the day, and Halayah wanted to learn how to take some photos to be used for the newsletter. What she discovered was a knack for taking exceptional portraits of her classmates. She now wants to join the Yearbook Club as a Lower School representative in the Fall.
