Upper School Student Featured at Local Conference

Putting Self-Advocacy Skills into Practice
As a part of Bloomfield Hills Township Public Library's "Adaptive Umbrella" conference, Eton Academy junior, Max Wagerson, participated on a student panel sharing his experience as a different learner. During this panel discussion, Max shared his passions, learning journey, and advice for the public librarians who were eager to hear new ideas to engage and support different learners in their respective community libraries.

Articulate, confident and relaxed infusing humor into his presentation, Max eloquently shared his passion to educate others on learning differences through his YouTube channel, and discussed his future plans. Flanking the room, 10 Eton teachers were in attendance to show support for Max, cheering on his achievements and public self-advocacy, a key component of the Eton ApproachTM.
