Summer Programs 2023

SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM FOR ETON STUDENTS

The 2023 Summer Learning Program at Eton will be offered ONLY to currently or newly enrolled Eton students for the fall. For families that are unable to commit to the Summer Learning Program, summer tutoring through the Hartmann-Eton Center for Teaching and Learning is a great way to keep students engaged in learning at Eton Academy (see below).

The Summer Learning Program
Using Eton’s brain-based, whole-child approach, Eton’s Summer Learning Program courses will be offered on campus. Each course is designed to provide opportunities for students to engage in discovery, hands-on activities, and to use, practice, and apply their Essentials of Learning skills through their summer learning experiences. Students are expected to attend the courses in which they are enrolled from start to finish in order to gain the full benefit of the programming.

Eton's Summer Learning Program is designed to be a continuation of our students’ school year, as well as prepare them for a successful start in the Fall. Eton-trained teachers work with families and school-year teachers to build learning programs centered around your student’s specific learning goals and strengths while focusing on specific Essentials of Learning skills each week in fun, creative, and safe ways. An academic morning program is designed to focus on building academic skills in the area of literacy, math, and technology. Essentials of Learning Afternoon Enrichment will focus on building and applying Essentials of Learning skills in the areas of athletics and the arts.

SCHEDULE OVERVIEW
Eton’s Summer Learning Program is available for students in grades 1-12 and will run Monday through Thursday, beginning the week of June 26th and ending the week of July 24th.
There will be no programming the week of July 3rd for the holiday.

Academic Morning Program (8:30 am-11:45 am)
This is a four-week program focusing on building foundational skills in reading, writing, math and using technology for learning. Each class is structured with approximately 30-minutes of direct/guided instruction and approximately 15 minutes of application time with teacher support.
*Students enrolled in this program will participate for the entire four-weeks.

Essentials of Learning Afternoon Enrichment Program (12:30 pm-3:15 pm)
These one week-long skills-based Enrichment Programs are available only in the afternoons. Afternoon enrichment programs focus on building skills in athletics, arts, STEAM, music, and drama. Each afternoon enrichment program is optional and separate from the Academic Morning Program. Students do not need to participate in both, but we encourage it! Students staying for the afternoon will have lunch and activity between sessions.
